Life Questions

Once a week I'll be posing a life question.  This week my question is :
Would you accept twenty years of extraordinary happiness and fulfillment if it meant you would die at the end of the period?

  1. It depends on what would bring me those feelings of happiness and fulfillment. If it means that I have accomplished and contributed something so great that it warrants two decades of complete satisfaction, then yes. On the other hand, if I had nothing but those feelings with no justification for them, then no. It would be empty, purposeless contentment and I wouldn't be willing to sacrifice my life for a façade.

  4. It is very good question. I think we should take full of happiness from our lifes, and don't think about death, because we are here, and now. Who knows, maybe after 'death' we will live in other form, but still living :)

  6. It's an interesting question. If you asked me when I was 60 I would take it in a heartbeat. Seeing as I am 21 though, I'm looking forward to building my own experiences, good or bad. Not gonna die at 41! :)

  7. Turtle hit it on the head. All depends on where you are in life. Up until your 50's at least you can do pretty much anything and make yourself happy. Once that period has passed, sure I'd take it.

  9. I'd assume by fulfillment, that would mean that I had accomplished all of my goals, leading me to say yes, I would accept that. And I look forward to seeing your future questions

  14. The human brain is designed to always seek the maximum level of happiness. I'd live those 12 years as happy as a stoned baby and then die, no hard feelings.

  17. Yes, would be majorly awkward to tell your perfect wife and family though that your about to die on your final year.

Would even more be awkward if you told your family that this all came from a deal you made and this wouldn't be happening otherwise.

  19. No. I prefer to live longer than that, even though it means to have some hardships along the way.

  20. personally, i would take 20 years as long as other people got happiness out of it to, i.e. I became rich and famous, while giving lots of my money to charity

  21. Probably not, the hard times makes us appreciate the good times more.

  23. Don't really know. I kinda agree with RQ, that you don't appreciate the good without the bad. Well, I think I'd take it.

  24. Good question. I probably would take the twenty years, although as those above me said. you can't appreciate the good without the bad.

  27. I think I would go with it. Granted, I'd be dead by the time I'm almost 40, but eh I would be happy and fulfilled my life by then. I don't think I'll make it to 40 anyhow so why not?
